Fires in dryer exhaust ducts pose a serious risk to consumers. In fact, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a consumer product safety alert. According to the CPSC, annually there are 15,500 fires, 10 deaths and 310 injuries due to dryer exhaust duct fires. These fires result in millions of dollars in property loss. Because the dryer duct is usually 4" diameter, the slightest amount of deposit can greatly reduce the ability to exhaust. When it starts taking longer to dry the clothes, the problem is not usually the dryer but rather the exhaust system.
Dryer Vent Cleaning - PowerBees recommends the annual cleaning of all dryer vents and dryer ducts. Dryer vent cleaning is known to prevent home fires, improve the efficiency of dryer use and reduce energy costs. When your dryer takes longer to dry clothes than it used to, it is time to clean your dryer vent. Occasionally, there are obstructions in dryer vent ducts that block airflow, such as birds, nests and other debris. PowerBees incorporates the use of video cameras to identify blockages and dryer duct detachments within walls. Once a blockage is identified our technicians will clear the blockage from the dryer duct and continue cleaning the dyer vent.
Commercial Dryer Vent Cleaning - PowerBees has a special team of technicians devoted to cleaning dryer vents in large apartment and condominium complexes, townhouse communities, hotels, retirement homes, assisted living communities, and Laundromats. There is no building too large. Although the preference is to clean dryer vents from within each unit, our technicians will clean dryer ducts from roof tops and along the side of a building. Our PowerBees technicians utilize special equipment, e.g., scissor lifts, to gain access up the sides of multi-level buildings to clear blockages and install new mesh covers on dryer vent duct exhausts. Off-hours services can be arranged for dryer vent cleaning at any facility.
Residential Dryer Vent Cleaning - PowerBees provides residential dryer vent cleaning services. Our technicians take great care to clean your dryer vent ducts and use Rotobrush® technology that incorporate suction and spinning brushes to agitate lint and debris off the sides of the dryer vent ducts. Our PowerBees technicians clean all the way from the back of the dryer through the dryer vent to the outside. Our technicians do not use rods with hooks that often damage duct work and push the lint into duct elbows – which often makes a blockage worse. PowerBees is often called to clear blockages created by others who do not use suction. No vent is too short or too long. Our hoses can cover 70' of duct work and access can be extended for longer ducts.Additionally, PowerBees will provide Dryer Vent cleaning in all of Rhode Island (such as Providence, Warwick and Cranston) as well as Eastern Connecticut through Hartford.

Overheated Clothes Dryers Can Cause Fires - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from thousands of types of consumer products under the agency's jurisdiction. The CPSC is committed to protecting consumers and families from products that pose a fire, electrical, chemical, or mechanical hazard or can injure children. The CPSC's work to ensure the safety of consumer products - such as toys, cribs, power tools, cigarette lighters, and household chemicals - contributed significantly to the 30 percent decline in the rate of deaths and injuries associated with consumer products over the past 30 years.
